05/07/2018
This recipe is going to show you how fast and easy it is to make homemade churros!
Serve these crunchy churros with some chocolate sauce on top or with dulce de leche on the side to dip them in.
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Yields: 30 Churros
Ingredients:
- 2/3 cup of all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 cup of water
- 2 tbsp of butter, room temperature
- 1 cup of sugar
- Pinch of salt
- Oil for frying.
Method:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and then add the water and pinch of salt.
- When boiling, remove the saucepan from the heat and add the all-purpose flour. Remember to sift it before to avoid lumps in your dough.
- Stir your dough until completely combined and let cool down for 10 minutes.
- Fill a piping bag with the churro dough. If you have a star tip that’ll help you to get the perfect shape. If you don’t, just cut the end of your bag and make them in a circular shape.
- Get a plate and pour the cup of sugar, set aside.
- Add the oil in a pan over medium heat; always be careful when frying.
- Pipe 2 or 3 churros into the oil and fry them until golden on each side. It is easier to fry small batches at a time and if it is your first time making churros, try to make them shorter, those are easier to cook.
- When still warm, roll the churros in the sugar. Make sure to cover all of them!
- Tip: If you want to spice them up a little bit you can also mix sugar and cinnamon together!
