Infused Water - The Best Start To Your Day
12/29/2018
We always talk about how to cook some food and how to use veggies, fruits and so on to create amazing recipes but what if we could use some of the ingredients we usually use in the kitchen as a great addition to boost both health and hydration? It is important to stay hydrated, but after a while, water can get bored and you risk giving up the recommended fluid intake simply because you do not like a simple glass of H2O. Choose natural infusions to remedy! Here are five of our favorite recipes of flavored infusions that can be sipped all day.
MOTIVATION TO THE MORNING: CITRUSES AND CUCUMBERS
Start the day with a refreshing infusion to wake up. Slice a cucumber (leave a little aside for a soothing night eye mask) and add it to a jug of filtered fresh water. Squeeze a few drops of lemon juice into the jug, cut the rest into thin slices and add them. The fresh taste of cucumber matches perfectly with the natural acidity of the lemon. Alternatively, you can use lime, orange or grapefruit; depending on which citrus you prefer.
DIGESTION AFTER LUNCH: FRUITS OF WOOD AND MINT
Mint is known for its ability to improve digestion, making it ideal for an infusion to drink after lunch. Dark berries like raspberries and blueberries are rich in antioxidants and add a fruity and sweet touch. Rub the mint leaves and lightly squeeze the berries before adding them to the water so that they can release their flavor. Preparing the mixture in the morning you will be sure that for lunchtime the infusion is ready and full of flavor.
DRINK IN THE SUN OF AFTERNOON: GINGER, PEAR, AND VANILLA
The perfect combination of this infusion is a cocktail of flavors: the fruity of the pear, the spicy ginger, and the sweet vanilla will satisfy every palate. We recommend this mix for a sunny day to spend with friends. The infusion will keep its taste even for a week so you do not have to worry if you have prepared too much. And the same goes for the number of ingredients you add: the more they are, the better!
MEET YOUR SWEETNESS: CHERRIES AND LIME
Even if you’re enjoying the sweetest things in life, you know you do not have to be too lenient with yourself. This sweet and fruity infusion will match your taste buds: the cherries give a load of natural sugar and the lime provides a delicious citrus aftertaste. Why not keep the fruit when the bottle is empty and then use it for a nutrient-rich shake? Cherries and lime are an excellent ingredient for any drink!
POST-TRAINING: CUCUMBER, LIME, AND MINT
After a workout rewarded with an anti-fatigue infusion with cucumber, lime, and mint. Alternatively, watermelon is a great substitute if you prefer to use cucumber to prepare the eye mask we talked about before! Both fruits (yes, cucumber is actually a fruit) are known for their ability to eliminate toxins and mint, but also lime, it is useful for digestion and relaxes tense muscles. For an infusion with a rich flavor, let the mixture rest in the refrigerator overnight.
