  03/16/2021

Getting your pantry organized won’t just help you find what you need more easily but also go a long way to making meal prep faster and easier. It will also stop prevent food wastage by helping you see what you have and what you need to restock. Here are some ways to organize your pantry.

Pull everything out

The first step towards getting everything in order is to make a mess. Pull everything out so you can identify items that have expired, what you no longer use and what is nearly expired. Remember to clean it using an all-natural solution.

Store like items with like

Now that everything is out, group and keep similar products in proximity so you can access them easily. For instance, flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, sugar and vanilla can be stored together since they are baking supplies.

Put everything in clear containers.

An excellent way to keep items from getting lost is to store them in clear containers that allow you to see everything you have in the pantry. It will help you take more accurate inventory, so you don’t end up shopping for things you already have.

Keep everyday products at eye level.

When arranging containers in your pantry, be sure to keep frequently used items within arm’s reach to make them easily accessible. Store rarely used items either lower or higher in your pantry.

Label containers and shelves

It doesn’t have to look fancy; affix the appropriate label onto your storage containers and shelves. Be sure also to indicate the date opened and expiration date to avoid food wastage.

Following the tips above will not just help keep foods fresh but also save you money since they minimize the risks of food wastage.
