Spiced Ginger Cookies

These delicious big soft and nicely spiced ginger cookies are a perfect breakfast or snack.
Serves: 30 cookies
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
1. 1 large egg, room temperature
2. 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
3. 1 cup of sugar
4. ¾ cup butter softened
5. ¼ cup molasses
6. 2 teaspoons ground ginger
7. 1 teaspoon baking soda
8. ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
9. ½ teaspoon ground cloves
10. ¼ teaspoon salt
11. Additional sugar
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
2. Beat in molasses and egg.
3. In another bowl, combine flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
4. Gradually add flour mixture to the creamed mixture and mix well.
5. Roll into 1 ½ inch balls.
6. Roll each ball in sugar and place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
7. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes or until puffy and lightly browned.
8. Remove from oven and let it cool.
9. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
